Che Avengers: Endgame e Game of Thrones siano rispettivamente il film e la serie TV più popolare di questo momento non vi sono dubbi. Sembra però che la loro popolarità non si fermerà alla cultura pop. Entrambi infatti hanno fatto incetta di nomination presso gli MTV Awards, dove hanno tante possibilità di vittoria.

Avengers: Endgame e Game of Thrones hanno collezionato le nomination per la cerimonia di premiazione di quest’anno. Endgame ha ricevuto diverse nomination come Miglior film, Miglior eroe (Robert Downey Jr. con Iron-Man), Miglior cattivo (Josh Brolin nel ruolo di Thanos) e Miglior combattimento (Capitan America vs Thanos).

Game of Thrones ha anche ricevuto quattro nomination, tra cui Miglior show televisivo, Miglior protagonista in una serie TV (Emilia Clarke nel ruolo di Daenerys Targaryen), Miglior eroe (Maisie Williams nel ruolo di Arya Stark) e Miglior combattimento (Arya Stark vs White Walkers).

Gli MTV Awards, il secondo più prestigioso evento di premiazione di tutti gli spettacoli di intrattenimento tenutisi a giugno, sono uno spunto per la prossima stagione di riconoscimenti di Hollywood quest’anno. Avengers e Game of Thornes finiscono entrambi dopo tanti anni e la maggior parte degli spettacoli di premi convenzionali li riconoscerà. Endgame raccoglierà alcuni Oscar per gli effetti speciali e Game of Thrones porterà a casa un Emmy o un Golden Globe, quindi in molti modi, il riconoscimento anticipato degli MTV Awards può essere visto come un pioniere in questo senso.
